Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind is a science fiction romantic drama film directed by Michel Gondry, written by Charlie Kaufman, starring Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Kirsten Dunst, Elijah Wood & Tom Winkinson  

STORY BRIEF

The story is about 2 people Joel & Clementine who in volatile relationship undergo a procedure to remove each other's memories and make a fresh start. Initially Clementine undergoes the procedure then after knowing this Joel also undergoes the same thing.

PERSONAL VIEWS 

I am writing a movie after a long time as I was unable to give my time to movies due to some personal work , but recently I watched "Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind " and I am happy to write a review of such a beautiful movie. 

I usually don't watch a lot of romantic movies but some movies like "500 days of summer", "Before Trilogy", "Puzzle", "La la land" hold a special place in my heart and so will this film. The film starts on a valentine day where Joel an introvert guy decides to skip his work and go to Montauk where he finds a girl named Clementine and they fall in love and story continues for some time then there is jump cut where we see Joel crying in a car and credits start coming and the film officially starts .

Joel finds out that her girlfriend Clementine has undergone a procedure to remove all the memories of Joel. He gets devastated by this thing and decides to undergo the same procedure. The thing which I liked about this movie is that it has a very unique story , being a sci - fi , romance movie it was very a  simple but impactful film. During the process of erasing Joel has to bring all those things which are in some or the other way related to Clementine. After the process of erasing it will all be like a dream and that's what I liked the most about the film . How finely they represented a dream , the jump cuts , the irregularity. The dream or the erasing process starts from the last memory of them and simultaneously goes backwards.

After things start to get erase Joel feels that he doesn't want to erase Clementine , he likes the moments spent with her, her touch , he also realises mistakes on his part in their relationship. I like how they are communicating wiithin the dream that he doesn't want her to be erased and in order to do that they are tying to hide in Joel deepest memory where there was no Clementine .

By the end of his dream we get know how they actually met on that beach , what happened and in the last moment Clementine whispers Joel to meet her in Montauk and the memory is erased. The character which where erasing Joel's memory alos had a girl who underwent the same procedure and was working fo them, she also gets to know this during the film when his boss arrives. Now the film goes all the way to start means the time film started , Joel and Clementine had their memory erased . Mary Svevo the girl who was working fo them decides to tell all the patients about this procedure they went through by sending their files to them . At last Joel and Clementine also see their recordings sent by her , in which they said demeaning things about each other , she didn't wanted to conitnue this relationship further but Joel convinces her to give a fresh start and begin again.

Overall I feel the film is a must watch.
